Not Just Cleaning!

Having been around for quite sometime, we have noticed there is a few potential clients who ring us and they either hang up upon hearing the price or they comment that we are too expensive. One lady in particular I remember, said in her comments, that ‘it is only cleaning!’. Well, whilst it is understandable to want to have things at the cheapest possible price, I often get the feeling that those in the cleaning industry suffer the most because cleaning is not taken to be a profession that requires special expertise to do it. While that is true to a degree, it is not necessarily true when running a cleaning service that caters for many clients and cleaners. Running a cleaning service incurs a number of costs which will need to be paid by the customer. So when a customer uses an Agency they will not pay for just cleaning they will also pay for the cost of the following:-
  1. Recruiting cleaners- cleaners are difficult to find. Perhaps let’s rephrase that, good, thorough and dependable cleaners are hard to find. It takes a lot of effort to find one good cleaner. We may interview 10 but come up with one.There is lots of hours spent, phone time, referencing that goes into it.
  2. Administration-whether you want an oven clean or a regular cleaner, someone out there has to answer your phone call or email. Someone has to plan the schedules and ensure that they work. If you have a regular cleaner, they will go on holiday, be sick and you will want cover and all this requires strong adminstration to be carefully planned and work. What needs to be understood is that the system will be supporting many clients with different many requests and at different locations. So it can be complicated getting everything to work. So under adminstration there is the cost of the person who answers enquiries, then there is the utility costs. To schedule things efficiently, there is need of software, computers, stationery and all these come with a cost.
  3. Insurance- we couldnt run a service like this without insurance and this costs money.
  4. Rent-A business needs a home and this is all paid for.
  5. Machinery and Equipment-For services like carpet cleaning we need top quality carpet cleaning machines that are able to clean many square feet of carpets a day without a hitch. These don’t come cheap and our prices have to reflect these costs.
  6. Tax- that is one cost for certain!
The list could go on but I think you have got the idea. So it is not just the cleaning and the prices set for each service take account of the related costs. We are always genuine in our intentions and believe we offer competitive prices. Most of those who have used our services keep coming back and continue to refer our services. We think this is because we offer not just cleaning but a thorough, dependable service worth the price!
